WATCH: Tinubu Calls Wike ‘Abuja Landlord’ — Nigerians React to Viral Video

President Bola Tinubu has stirred fresh conversations online after referring to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as the “Abuja landlord” during a public moment captured on video.
The clip, which has now gone viral, showed the President at the airport preparing to travel out of the country.
Several top government officials were present to see him off. Among them was Wike, who stepped forward to greet the President.
Many Nigerians have since reacted across social media platforms. Some viewed the comment as a light-hearted acknowledgment of Wike’s firm grip on land administration in the Federal Capital Territory.
Others, however, raised concerns about the optics of such remarks, especially at a time when citizens are grappling with economic pressure and insecurity.
At the same time, the President’s trip has also drawn scrutiny. Some Nigerians questioned the frequency of official travels and the presence of senior cabinet members at departure scenes.
However, the Presidency has not issued any official statement regarding the viral video as of the time of filing this report.
